Industrial HVAC Services

Florida Industrial HVAC Services

The difference in maintaining a large-scale Industrial HVAC system could mean millions of dollars in energy savings. On average, HVAC makes up more than 30% of a facility’s energy consumption. When speaking of industries like Concrete and Cement, or Plastic Processing, it is imperative that factory workers have well-ventilated work environments. In dealing with Oil and Gas Refineries and Power Plants, Explosion Proof HVAC systems are crucial to assure that the lives of all parties involved are safe and secure, as well as your investment. Our certified technicians are well trained on all products and services for any facet of the industry in Hazardous Class 1 Division 1 Groups C and D locations and Class 1 Division 2 Groups B C D. Our Engineers have hand-selected manufacturers that are only ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Offshore Oil and Gas

When speaking of corrosion, the ocean is at the top of the food chain. Add corrosive chemicals and explosive fuels, and you have a recipe for disaster. It’s no wonder so few HVAC companies are able to tend to the needs of these titans of industry. Our mechanical engineers have hand-selected the top certified manufactures in the world to work alongside our design team. Our manufactures specialize in Severe Duty and Explosion Proof Class 1 Division 2 IEEE 45 marine duty motors. We provide Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and Combustible Gas alarms and offer Grade 316 Stainless Steel cabinets which are the standard molybdenum-bearing grade amongst the austenitic stainless steels for higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. Copper Fins and copper tube coils with Technicoat baked phenolic coating secure your investment tighter.

Wastewater and Sewage Treatment

These facilities are some of the most corrosive environments on Earth due to dangerously high levels of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S). Combined with combustible levels of Methane Gas (CH4), these applications require Corrosive Resistance and Explosion Proof HVAC equipment. Class 1 Division 2 TEAO Evaporator Motors and Class 1 Division 2 TEFC Condenser Motors are amongst some of the specialty equipment we can provide for these settings.

Oil and Gas Exploration and Extraction

Drilling rigs are some of the most dangerous, dirty, and noise-polluted environments to work in. Full Explosion Proof Redundancy for drilling platforms and critical on-site support buildings is a must for these commercial HVAC applications. Every minute that the drilling process is down could cost these companies thousands of dollars, and because of this, our manufactures have vested 40 years into developing the right equipment for the job. Modular buildings like the Drillers Cabin and VFD Buildings require unique attention; Redundant Auxiliary Evaporator Blowers and Motors, Redundant Auxiliary Condenser Fans, Built-in NFPA 496 compliant Purge, and Pressurization are just some of the features our equipment offers. For a complete list of services for this industry, give us a call at (305) 888-2421 today!

Oil and Gas Midstream

The oil and gas industry is usually divided into three major components: upstream, midstream, and downstream. The midstream sector involves the transportation, storage, and wholesale marketing of crude or refined petroleum products through global pipelines. These pipelines not only create jobs all across the world but also generate extremely high electricity requirements, therefore giving off tremendous amounts of heat at the VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives). If heat is not quickly dispelled from these units, it could cause critical failure, and therefore 50% redundancy is required to assure as little downtime as possible for these VFD shelters, as well as Remote Instrumentation Enclosures. N+1 Redundancy increases the safety net of these operations by providing an additional unit that stays dormant until needed and is activated by using lead-lag multiplexors.

Refineries and Powerplants

We provide certified safe cooling to critical applications in hazardous environments. Our Explosion Proof HVAC systems can operate in extreme weather conditions ranging from the hot desert sands to the polar ice caps. For instances where chemicals can splash on electrical equipment causing explosions, we use Class 1 Division 2 labeled AMCA Type A Spark-Resistant TEAO Evaporator Motors, and Class 1 Division 2 labeled AMCA Type A Spark-Resistant TEFC Condenser Motors. Our systems are complete with built-in NFPA 496 compliant Purge and Pressurization, and Corrosive and Combustible Gas Alarms. 16-gauge galvanized steel with industrial powder coating, and corrosion-resistant coil coatings like Heresite, Technicoat, and Ecoat protect your investment. We supply MERV-8 pre-filters and final filters which can be upgraded to MERV-11 or MERV-14 for enhanced Air Purification. Blast Dampers are also available for added protection to these 100% Redundancy systems which utilize Auto-duplexer microprocessor control panels to auto-switch between, energize standby units, and lockout other in the event of power failure or high temp alarms.

Mining and Resource Extraction

There is no question that Industrial HVAC is the most challenging and dangerous sector of the industry. Mining and Extraction bring the potential hazards of landslides, cave-ins, and unexpected explosions. Extracting resources from the ground creates an extremely dusty environment where fine powders can accumulate around mechanical and electrical enclosures. Severe Duty and Explosion Proof T3 rated motors prevent auto-ignition of built-up dust. We use equipment specifically manufactured to combat the everyday hazards of mining including general-purpose pressurization; to maintain 0.1” wc to aid in prohibiting outside contaminants from entering, and R-134a refrigerant for high-temperature applications up to 130°F. Spin Filters are available to remove heavy particles, and chemical filtration to remove Sulfur compounds like Sulphur Dioxide and Sodium Sulfide. Combustible, Corrosive, and Toxic Gas Alarms finalize the package.

Pulp and Paper Mills

These facilities are usually set in some of the most corrosive environments in the world…and if that isn’t enough, paper, dust, woodchips and other particulates circulate in the air to make ventilation an even tougher task. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S), chlorine compounds, and other sulfur compounds combine with humid environments to quickly degrade sensitive and expensive equipment, while wood yards and overhead cranes cause heavy vibration to add to even more wear. These HVAC systems require flexible lines and hoses, rugged frames made of heavy gauge steel to protect against vibration, and corrosion-resistant coatings like Technicoat, Elctrofin, and Heresite. Controlling air temperature and humidity helps to avoid condensation, deterioration, and corrosion of the building, machinery, and electronic devices, resulting in an increased lifespan. Optimizing the supply of fresh air also minimizes energy usage and provides ideal working conditions for personnel; too high machine hall temperature and humidity decrease the alertness of machine operators creating dangerous situations and increased production downtime. Machine Hall, Turbine Hall, Control Room, Boiler Room, and Electrical Room Ventilation are the most common types of service in demand for these facilities.

Mobile Broadcast Trailers

Whether you specialize in Local News, Riot Control, or Aviation, PSI is a complete service HVAC mechanical contractor fully equipped and certified to address any needs of specific demand clientele. Mobile Broadcast Trailers and Mobile Command Centers are at the forefront of the action and depend heavily on the quality of HVAC equipment being used to cool equipment and personnel. Staying up to the moment as the action unfolds is what these professionals depend on, and what the public has come to expect. Keeping your equipment and team properly ventilated and cool is crucial during remote location affairs, and 100% Redundancy Dual Units are usually the norm to assure no downtime occurs. In these uncertain times, you might often see COVID-19 Coronavirus Medical Trailers, and COVID-19 Coronavirus Shelters and Tents set up all across the world. Among these mobile medical units are Clean Room, MRI, CAT, Bloodwork Laboratories, and Surgical Rooms. Law Enforcement relies heavily on Mobile Command Centers for decreased response time in situations where an extra minute or two could mean the difference between life or death. Forensics use these MCCs as crime-scene forensic labs to maximize investigative efficiency. The Military has many uses for Mobile Command Centers ranging from Berthing Units to Communication Trailers. In Commercial and Military Aviation, HVAC applications play a major role in facilitating flight by aiding in the use of Jet Bridge Mounts, Mobile and Cart Mounts, Pre-Condition Air (PCA) units, Air Start Units, and full ground support. The most standard configuration for these MCCs and Trailers is thru wall 2.5 ton 8,000-10,000btu systems. Usually, HVAC units are mounted to the front walls of these trailers, but sometimes the HVAC unit has to be mounted on one of the sidewalls depending on the application. There is an unlimited amount of uses for these trailers, therefore, creating a large demand for quality HVAC design and service.
